Hi, I’m Jeff Wakeford, a proud Dentist and the owner of Odeon Dental. I was born and raised right here in Calgary, and I continue to enjoy being a part of this vibrant city of ours.
After graduating from Bishop Carroll High School, I attended the University of Calgary where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cellular, Molecular & Microbial Biology. Before embarking on my final career path in dentistry, I took some time to travel and work abroad. This allowed me to learn so much about different people and cultures, and to grow as an individual from these experiences. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach ESL in South Korea for a couple of years; what an amazing life experience! I had a chance to travel to Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Eventually, I felt it was time to come home and start a new chapter of my life. Since I loved helping people and working with my hands, Dentistry seemed like the perfect and most natural career choice. I obtained my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Alberta in 2008, and the rest is history!
In my downtime, I enjoy travelling with my family and two French Bulldogs, JackJack and Lulu. You can often find me at a group fitness class in Calgary, or at the gym. I always incorporate yoga into my week, as well as a daily meditation to help keep me balanced. I also love finding new local restaurants to enjoy with my family and friends.
I’ve been very fortunate to have been a part of several Dental Volunteer Trips, through my association working with two groups- Kindness in Action and Dentistry for All. These trips have been such a rewarding way to give back. They have taken me to Guatemala four times, as well as Cambodia, Ecuador, and Nicaragua.
